Editorial policy

How UK Living Guide researches, sources, fact-checks, dates and updates its guides on dental care, home improvements and money.

Sources first

Guides are built from primary and official sources wherever possible: the NHS, GOV.UK, regulators such as the General Dental Council and the Financial Conduct Authority, and recognised trade bodies. Sources are listed at the end of each guide.

Facts, not guesses

We do not publish statistics, prices or quotes we cannot trace to a source. Where a price is shown, we say where it comes from and when it was checked.

Dates and updates

Each guide shows the date it was last updated. NHS charges, building rules and lending rules change, so guides are reviewed when the underlying rules move.

Health and money topics

Guides on health and money are written to inform, not to diagnose or advise. They avoid promises about results and point readers to registered professionals and free, impartial services.

Corrections

If you spot something out of date or wrong, we want to fix it. Corrections are made as soon as they are verified, and the updated date on the guide changes.
