Invisalign Clinic in Northampton: 4 Practices Compared (2026)

By the UK Living Guide editorial team · Updated 28 October 2026 · 7 min read

If you are choosing an Invisalign clinic in Northampton, Cliftonville Dental on The Avenue is a good first conversation: adult orthodontic consultations are free, Invisalign is listed from £3,500, and the same team handles your check-ups and hygiene. Northampton Dental Hub lists a lower starting fee, and Duston Dental Practice and The Private Dental Centre on Derngate are also worth comparing.

Most adults who ask about clear aligners have the same three questions. How much will it cost? How long will I be wearing them? And who will actually be looking after my teeth while they move? The answers vary more between Northampton practices than you might expect.

We compared four local practices that offer Invisalign, using only what each one publishes on its own website. If you are weighing up an Invisalign clinic in Northampton, the table and notes below should help you shortlist two or three before you book a consultation.

How we compared

We read each practice's Invisalign page and fee list in October 2026. We looked at the starting price, what the first appointment costs, how long the practice says treatment usually takes, the finance on offer and anything the practice says about retainers. We did not attend as patients. "From" prices are starting points, and every practice says the final figure depends on an assessment of your teeth, so ask for a written plan before you commit.

1. Cliftonville Dental: a free first conversation and your general care in one place

Cliftonville Dental is a private practice at 65 The Avenue, Cliftonville, Northampton NN1 5BT. It comes first in this list because it makes the first step easy: adult orthodontic consultations are free, so you can find out whether aligners suit you before spending anything.

The practice's Invisalign page explains the system in plain terms. Treatment starts with a digital smile assessment, and a series of custom-made clear aligners is then produced for you. You move to a new set every week or two (the page also mentions two to three weeks in its longer description, so ask which applies to your plan). Each set nudges your teeth a little closer to where they need to be.

The page is honest about the commitment. It says aligners should usually be worn for 20 to 22 hours a day, coming out only for eating, drinking anything other than water and cleaning your teeth. Many patients finish within 6 to 18 months, and you will need a removable retainer once treatment ends to hold your teeth in place.

The fee list puts Invisalign from £3,500. The practice offers interest-bearing finance that spreads payments over 12 to 60 months, with terms and conditions applying. It also says it will talk through all of its orthodontic options at the consultation if aligners are not the right fit for your bite.

A practical plus is that your aligners sit alongside your normal dental care. Cliftonville's fee list covers hygiene visits from £79, so keeping teeth and gums clean during treatment happens in the same building with the same records. The practice opens Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5:30pm, plus one Saturday a month (call to check dates). Phone 01604 604545.

Suits: adults who want a free, no-pressure first conversation and would like their aligner treatment and routine care handled by one practice.

2. Northampton Dental Hub: the lowest listed starting price

Northampton Dental Hub is in St Peters Square in the town centre. Its fee page lists Invisalign from £2,850, with an average cost of £3,500, which is the lowest starting figure of the four. A combined Invisalign and orthodontics consultation is £25, not including X-rays.

The same page lists several fixed brace options, including metal, tooth-coloured and lingual braces that sit behind the teeth, so it is a useful place to compare aligners against braces. It also says its fees do not change for weekend or late appointments and that it takes questions seven days a week.

Suits: people who want a low starting price and the chance to compare aligners with several brace types.

3. Duston Dental Practice: monthly pricing and a clear timeline

Duston Dental Practice runs two surgeries, on Main Road and at St Crispin, and opens Monday to Friday from 7:45am to 6pm. Rather than a total price, its Invisalign page quotes from £200 a month for 12 months on an interest-free basis, arranged through Tabeo, with a personal estimate after assessment.

The page gives one of the clearer timelines we found: total treatment averages 9 to 15 months, usually with 18 to 30 aligners, each changed every one to two weeks and worn 20 to 22 hours a day. Phone 01604 753312.

Suits: early risers, people west of the town centre, and anyone who prefers to think in monthly payments.

4. The Private Dental Centre, 44 Derngate: two levels of aligner case

The Private Dental Centre, run by Northants Dental Ltd at 44 Derngate, splits its pricing in a way that is helpful if your teeth only need small changes. Its fees page lists a simple clear aligner case from £1,950 and a full Invisalign case from £4,750, with retainers charged separately.

It offers a free virtual consultation, describes itself as an Invisalign Diamond Provider, and lists 0% finance through Chrysalis Finance for treatment plans over £500, subject to status. Phone 01604 439270.

Suits: people with minor crowding who want to see whether a smaller case is possible, and those happy to start online.

What really changes the price?

Two people can pay very different amounts for "Invisalign" in the same town. The starting figures above are for the simplest cases, and the final price usually depends on a few things:

  • How much your teeth need to move, which sets the number of aligners.
  • Whether X-rays, scans and refinement aligners are included or charged on top.
  • Whether retainers are part of the price. At 44 Derngate, for example, they are listed separately at £225 for a removable retainer.
  • How you pay: up front, interest-free over 12 months or with interest over a longer term.

Ask each practice to put these in writing so you can compare like with like.

Can adults get aligners on the NHS?

Usually not. The NHS says braces "are usually only available for free on the NHS for people under the age of 18 who have a problem with their teeth", and that if you are 18 or over you will usually have to pay. Invisalign for adults is therefore almost always a private treatment.

The NHS also stresses the step people forget: after braces come off, "you'll need to wear a retainer", which stops your teeth drifting back. That applies just as much to aligners, so budget for retainers and for wearing them long-term.

Questions to take to your consultation

  1. Am I suitable for aligners, or would braces work better for my bite?
  2. How many aligners do you expect, and how often will I change them?
  3. Are scans, X-rays, refinements and retainers included in the price?
  4. How often will I come in for reviews?
  5. Who looks after my hygiene and check-ups during treatment?
  6. What happens if an aligner is lost or cracked?

Any good practice will answer these without hesitation. You can also check that the dentist treating you is on the General Dental Council register, and practices in England are inspected by the Care Quality Commission.
